Celebrating Space Week at Cavendish View School! 🛰️

At Cavendish View School, we took part in the annual World Space Week, an exciting global event celebrated from October 4th to 10th. World Space Week is a time to recognise the amazing contributions of science and technology to the world and the betterment of the human condition. For our students, it’s a chance to engage in hands-on learning about the wonders of space, ignite their imaginations, and have a lot of fun along the way!

Sensory Exploration with a Space Sensory Tuff Tray

One of our most engaging activities was the Space Sensory Tuff Tray, designed to offer an enriched sensory experience for the children. This interactive tray was filled with exciting space-themed materials that helped stimulate the children’s senses, promoting sensory integration in a fun and engaging way. The children explored different textures, shapes, and colors, helping them connect with the theme of space in a tangible way.

A Visit to The World Museum 🌍🚀

As part of our Space Week celebrations, our Nurture children enjoyed an exciting trip to the World Museum. The visit included an unforgettable journey through the planetarium, where the children learned about stars, planets, and galaxies far beyond our own. We also explored the space gallery, which featured fascinating exhibits about space exploration and the technology that makes it all possible. The trip was not only educational but also loads of fun, sparking our children’s curiosity about space and the universe.

Crafting Space Rockets and Helmets 🚀🛠️

Back in the classroom, our Nurture children got creative with a space-themed craft project. Using recycled materials, they built their very own space rocket and designed their own space helmets! This hands-on activity encouraged teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving as they worked together to achieve their goal. The project helped develop important skills while reinforcing the theme of space exploration. Plus, the kids had a blast seeing their hard work come to life!

A Fun, Educational Week for All 🌠

World Space Week at Cavendish View School has been an out-of-this-world experience! From sensory exploration and exciting museum visits to creative crafts, our children have had the opportunity to engage in a variety of fun, educational activities. This special week has not only inspired a love for science and space in our students but also helped them work together, think creatively, and celebrate the incredible achievements of space exploration.
