Cavendish View School is celebrating after being awarded the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) Inclusive School Award, recognising its outstanding commitment to inclusion, personalised support and pupil wellbeing.

Following a rigorous assessment, IQM praised the school’s nurturing culture, strong relationships and dedication to ensuring pupils, families and staff feel valued, supported and able to flourish. The report highlighted that the school's ethos,"With strong roots we grow and flourish together," is evident in daily life throughout the school community.

Inspectors recognised the school's strengths in communication, behaviour support, sensory provision and its highly personalised approach to learning. Parents described the school as life-changing, while pupils shared how staff help them feel safe, confident and successful.

Headteacher Carole Doherty said:

"We are incredibly proud to have achieved the IQM Inclusive School Award. This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication and care shown every day by our staff, pupils and families."

She added:

"At Cavendish View, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We believe every child deserves to feel valued, understood and empowered to achieve their very best. This award is a wonderful celebration of our whole school community."

The IQM assessor concluded that Cavendish View is a "highly inclusive and nurturing environment". The report also recognised the school's strong culture of reflection and continuous improvement as it continues to build opportunities for pupils to develop greater independence and achieve their full potential.
